Musicians hear yourself.

Güncelleme tarihi: 17 Kas 2024

We are the musicians of our life. The violinist, drummer. Maybe you are the orchestra conductor, the chief…Select the one that fits your character.

One thing is common in all. We are all crafting music in our own unique way…at the stage called life. (I know it is a cliche. Hear me out.)

Sometimes we are playing together, in harmony. Sometimes we are looped in a single. Stuck on repeat. Maybe some of us need tuning. Some of us need better composing. Everyone who is a musician of life…has a default tone.

Of course, it doesn’t mean every piece out there is worth calling beautiful music.

Then, how can one become a good musician of life? How can one craft a good song…Or even a symphony? One that will make a difference, make the audience cry. One that, for generations, new musicians will copy the same notes.

I used to play guitar as a teenager. Self-learner. No notes, just enthusiasm. Watched tutorial videos, memorized finger movements, practiced for hours. After 15 years, I don’t remember much. But I still remember one thing. A feeling…

While practicing, if I tried to avoided mistakes, I f*cked up. When I let go, I grooved. Watching my fingers on the frets killed the vibe. When I closed my eyes and heard the music, time flew…I love that groove state. A state of flow, hope, confidence…

I believe crafting a good piece of life should have the exact same feeling. Life should be lived in that state. Not in constant hesitation checking if you press on a wrong note. It should flow…

Please try to hear yourself while playing. Focus on yourself. Don’t get distracted by the audience. Listen to your own inner metronome. Know your instrument. Know your pitch. Know what your band needs. Know how to play, what to play. Practice like heaven. Know your audience. Know self.

Physicians heal thyself...

It is the key for becoming a good person, a good marketer, a good husband, a good musician, dancer…whatever.

I don’t know when the music ends and the dance begins. But as long as I’m here, I hope to stay in the groove. I invite all of you to do the same.

Following the footsteps of those who hear the music while playing. Peace be upon them.
