God save us from key opinionated leaders.

Did you know that sun used to rise from the east?

For thousands of years, melting pots like Mesopotamia were the hub for the latest know-how. Diverse cultures in the east fed the rivers of knowledge and wisdom. Together.

Now, for a very long time, west became the new melting pot. Birthplace of the latest technology. Hub of innovation.

”Seek knowledge, even if it is in the farthest state.”

Westerners were the pioneers at that. Getting the latest know-how from far lands. (Sadly, they gave little to no credit. Chose to ignore East’s foundational role. Some even denied…)

After reflecting on the recent Kamala/Trump election, it hit me. Maybe the tables are turning?

“Wisdom is in the exchange of perspectives.” Different perspectives give birth to meaningful impact…Gets us closer to the truth.

Did our so called key opinion leaders lost that? Did they forget? Or did their hearts grow dull and they clogged the voice of their conscience?

As a marketing guy, I am aware how noisy the world got. It is d*mn hard to steal some attention span. To make your voice heard, you need to be loud, disastrous, anxious, shocking, angry. Even untrue....Truth is not the king anymore, getting momentary awe is. Short term attention beat the living sh*t out of long term trust.

Leaders started to play for the polls, comments, likes, reposts…Their competition is not with their opponent’s perspective anymore. Their competition is with that AI-generated fake viral video on the internet. (Which one popped into your mind?)

More irreverent they act, more famous they get…More opinionated they act, more they attract.

This is not sustainable...

As society, we should continue cultivating key opinion leaders that value truth over attention. Leaders that follow the light, doing what’s just and right.

Which ever society see the value in creating those compassionate & competent leaders, that society will lead the future. Sun will rise over them.

Luckily some of those leaders still exist today…Paving the way…Peace be upon them.

They are our key optimism leaders...
